Thomas Toy Boeing Stratocruiser - Silver HP

Here's a little gem from Thomas Toy, the Boeing Stratocruiser! Our  Thomas Toys is clearly marked for the United States Air Force Military Air Transport Service (MATS) and should have been designated as a C-97 Stratofreighterbecause the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser was actually the civilian derivative of the military version. The prototype C-97 first flew in November of 1944 and was developed from the B-29 and B-50 bombers. It saw service in the Berlin Airlift, Korean War, and Vietnam War. Our toy measures 7 1/4" (18.41cm) L x 9" (22.86cm) wingspan x 2 3/8" (6.03cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

It wasn't unusual for toy makers to include a few stats underneath their airplanes but Thomas Toy wrote a whole book!

Here's the last of the four small sized hard plastic army vehicles offered in the early '50s, the Armored Car. It measures 3 1/4" (8.25cm) L x 1 1/2" (3.81cm) W x 1 5/8" (4.12cm) H. At the end of the post I show all four together. Enjoy1 Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
